“These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations,
which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.” Leviticus 23:4
The Messiah came to fulfill the laws and the prophets. There is significance for us to understand in every one of the feasts of the Lord.
Do I personally celebrate the feasts? On occasion I do participate in a Biblical feast. What I do celebrate in my heart is the amazing fulfillment of Christ in these feasts. It provides a full meaning to me of God’s purposes and my heart rejoices! God’s message of forgiveness, salvation, and redemption are so clearly illustrated in these wonderful Holy-days!
I have also used the Biblical feasts in teaching children the relationship of the Old Testament to the New and how Christ is the fulfiller of our faith! In fact, at just the right time Jesus proclaimed the fulfillment in himself in these feasts that were proclaimed by the Lord God for Israel.
“Let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.” Colossians 2:16-17
