Resurrections
The Bible cites many people who rose from death. Who were they?
Who witnessed them? Dappled minds want to know!
Who: Widow of Zaraphath’s son
Situation: Elijah layed on top of him praying 3 times.
Elijah says: “See, your son is alive.”
Witnesses: Widow, Elijah, the son

Who: Woman of Shunam’s son
Situation: Elisha stretched out on the boy and prayed.
“The flesh of the child became warm”
Elisha says: “Take up your son,
Witnesses: Woman of Shunam, her husband, Elisha, Elisha’s servant, the son

Who: A dead man
Situation: The men burryiing the dead man see a band of Moabites and toss him into Elisha’s grave. Upon touching Elisha’s bones the man sprang back to life.
Witnesses: The grave diggers

Who: Jairus’ daughter
Situation: Jairus, a synagogue official sends for Jesus. Jesus commands the girl to awaken and helps her up by the hand.
Jairus says: “My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.”
Jesus says: “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
“My child, get up!”
Witnesses: Jairus, Jesus, Peter, John, James, daughter

Who: Son of the widow from Nain
Situation: Jesus sees a funeral procession carrying the corpse of the son. He commands the young man to arise.
Jesus says: “Don’t cry.”, “Young man, I say to you, arise,”

Who: Lazarus
Situation: 3 days after Lazarus’ death. Jesus commands his to come out of his tomb.
Martha says: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Even now, I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”
Jesus says: “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me shall live even if he dies, he shall live.”
“Lazarus, come forth.”
